Polish Science Day is celebrated annually on February 19—the birthday of Nicolaus Copernicus.

The year 2026 marks the 553rd anniversary of his birth, making this year’s celebrations particularly symbolic. It was Copernicus—an outstanding astronomer—who revolutionized our understanding of the universe by proving that the Earth orbits the Sun, and not the other way around.
